Blackened Salmon with Herbed Creamed Spinach

There’s something special about perfectly cooked salmon — crisp on the outside, tender and buttery on the inside — especially when it’s seasoned with the bold, smoky heat of SwissAm Blackened Seasoning. This dish is naturally low-carb, incredibly healthy, and feels like a restaurant dish you can make any night of the week. The salmon gets that beautiful crust from the seasoning, while the creamed spinach is rich, herby, and comforting thanks to SwissAm Broil & Sauté. Together, it’s a simple, elegant combination that delivers big flavor with very little effort.

Ingredients

Serves 4

For the salmon:

For the herbed creamed spinach:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 3–4 cups fresh spinach
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1–2 tsp SwissAm Broil & Sauté Seasoning
  • Splash of cream or milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the creamed spinach
Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the shallot and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant. Add the spinach and stir until wilted. Lower the heat, add the cream cheese and SwissAm Broil & Sauté, and mix until creamy and well seasoned. Add a splash of cream if you prefer a looser texture. Keep warm.

  2. Prepare the salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry. Brush them with melted butter or oil, then coat generously with SwissAm Blackened Seasoning

  3. Cook the salmon
Heat a nonstick or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat with a little butter or oil. Place the salmon in seasoning-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes until a deep blackened crust forms. Flip and cook for another 3–5 minutes depending on thickness.
(Alternatively, sear for 2 minutes per side and finish in a 400°F oven for 6–8 minutes.)

  4. Assemble and serve
Spoon the warm herbed creamed spinach onto plates and top with the blackened salmon fillets. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon and serve immediately.
